Thank you for visiting my page!
I am a fourth year medical student at The Ohio State University College of Medicine pursuing my dream of becoming a pediatrician. Ultimately I want to become a pediatric allergist with my greatest interest being the development of childhood food allergies.
This coming Spring, before starting my pediatric residency, I will be cycling across the country to raise money for global health charities as part of a group of about a dozen medical students. We start our nationwide ride in San Diego, California and ride about 3,300 miles over the course of six weeks to our destination of Bethany Beach, Delaware. Along our course from the Pacific Ocean to the Atlantic Ocean we will provide a lecture series in communities along our ride. We will speak about topics including infant mortality prevention to nutrition to promotion of mental health to diverse groups of people, ranging from school children to community members to health professionals.
The beneficiaries of our ride include Ti Kay and OSU’s Greif Neonatal Survival Program. Ti Kay’s work began in Haiti following the 2010 earthquake that devastated the country, including its healthcare infrastructure. Its objective is to stop the spread of tuberculosis (TB) and HIV while preventing the illness and death caused by TB and HIV, focusing in Port-Au-Prince, Haiti. The Greif Neonatal Survival Program establishes healthcare training and delivery programs in developing nations with the goal of permanently improving health conditions in these regions. While the initial education programs were created and implemented in Haiti, the organization has recently expanded to Kenya and Ethiopia.
Thank you very much for taking the time to visit my page and learn about our ride. Any donation you make will support our beneficiaries Ti Kay and the Greif Neonatal Survival Program as well as support our ride so we can provide our nationwide lecture series.
My goal is $3,300, one dollar for every mile I ride. Every dollar counts – just as every mile cycled is necessary to reach the Atlantic, every donation, small or large, will be crucial in reaching my goal! For everyone who supports me in this once in a lifetime opportunity, I will say thanks by dedicating a portion of my ride to your generous donation and send a picture of me cycling the miles you sponsored me!
Thank you very much! I have included links to our beneficiaries’ website below. Please email me with any questions about our beneficiaries, our lecture series, or to learn more about our ride: email@example.com.
R4WH would like to thank its donors!
